OBITUARY Ella Mae Burden Speares, age 80 of 232 Brentwood Circle, wife of the late Clifton William 'Bub' Speares, died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe Lander Burden, Sr. and Lula Mae Jones Burden. She was retired from Abney Mill/Anderson Mill and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Clifton William 'Bill' Speares, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Anderson; three grandchildren, Tonya Michelle Hawkins, William Corey Speares and Roger Dale Richey; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Frankie Fowler of Anderson and a brother, Tommy Burden of Hartwell, GA.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lou Wooten and Beatrice McDaniel and a brother, Buddy Burden.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Brent Lollis. Interment will follow in Old Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
