Ellen McCown Allgood Pendleton, SC Ellen McCown Allgod, age 72, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Florence, SC, on February 10, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George Myers McCown and the late Hannah Sue Coker McCown. Ellen worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than 25 years. She enjoyed caring for people, gardening, and cooking. She was of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed watching religious television as her health declined and could no longer go to church. She is survived by her children, whom she loved dearly, John Allgood, of Pendleton, SC and Rachel Allgood, of New York, NY; and a sister-in-law, Jackie McCown, of Marietta, GA; cousins, Mary Jane Patterson, of Clemson, SC, Edna Coker, of Clemson, SC, and Betty Ann Tate, of Charleston, SC; also surviving are many nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Myers McCown, III. The Memorial service will be held at the Alvin Wall Chapel of Concord Baptist Church on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bill Parnell officiating.
