Ellen Sue McAbee Dacus, age 75, of Pendleton, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House. Born on October 6, 1941, in the Lebanon Community, SC, she was the daughter of the late Leroy McAbee and the late Vivian Sue Landreth McAbee. Ellen was a devoted member of La France Church of God where she was very instrumental in the Bus Ministry for Children for over 20 years. She loved and treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will all miss her dearly. In addition to her husband, Wilton Dacus, she is survived by her daughter, Kelly Wofford (Wayne) of Wellford, SC; brothers, Edward McAbee of Pelzer, SC, and David McAbee of Virginia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Johnna Woody; brothers, John, Richard and Frank McAbee; and sisters, Margaret Phelps, Mattie Andrews, Lib Graham and Hester McAbee. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend's James Shealy and Roger Allison officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to La France Church of God Building Fund, 265 Old Anderson Rd., Pendleton, SC 29670.
