ELLEN GAIL HENDRICKS Ellen Gail Wilson Hendricks, age 67, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, at her residence at Summit Place. Born on May 16, 1947, in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of Lillie Mae Gheen of Ninety Six, SC and the late Edgar Lee Wilson. Mrs. Hendricks was a graduate of Pickens High School. For forty-five years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late James Ronald Hendricks who died in 2008. Gail was a devoted home maker whose primary interest was her family. However she often assisted her husband in the running of their family business, Tri State Distributers in Anderson. A faithful Christian, Mrs. Hendricks attended Lebanon Baptist Church and often conducted Bible Study. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Hendricks is survived by her daughter, Melissa "Lisa" Hendricks Simpson of Anderson; a son-in-law, Roger Simpson of Anderson; a grandson, Christopher Hendricks Simpson of Fairfax, VA; a brother, Julian Lee Wilson and his wife, Marion, of Cross Hill, SC; a sister Barbara Jean Wilson of Gray Court, SC; a niece, Susan Stewart; and two nephews, Jay Wilson and his wife, Tanya, and Jeremy Wilson and his wife, Jennifer, and their children. In addition to her father, Mrs. Hendricks was preceded in death by a very special grandmother, Ella Mae Wilson. A memorial service to celebrate and honor the life of Gail Hendricks will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Chaplain Tim Pond officiating. The family will be at the residence of Melissa Hendricks Simpson, 111 Woodbridge Court, Anderson, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, 2015, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Hendricks may be made to Providence Care Hospice, 202 Wall Street, Piedmont, SC 29673.
