Ellis Gunter, Sr. Townville, SC Ellis Jesse (E.J.) Gunter, Sr., age 82, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, on November 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Ellis Gunter and the late Jesse Moore Gunter. He was a 1955 graduate of Clemson University. Ellis attended Word Tabernacle. He is survived by his loving wife, Geneva C. Gunter; his children, Wendell Gunter, Lynn Whitfield, Ellis Gunter, Jr., Ruth Naomi Jackson, and Rebecca Willis; two sisters, Louise Jones and Doris Jordan; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, S.T., Grady, and Floyd Gunter; and by one sister, Beatrice Robinson. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Word Tabernacle with Reverend Gene Williams officiating.
