Elodia C. Williams Elodia "Ella" Filomena Antoniette Candeloro Williams, age 85, passed away at National Health Care, Anderson, on Saturday, December 14, 2013. Born on December 28, 1927 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Carlo Cesaro Candeloro and the late Maria Lucia Melchiori Candeloro. For sixty-one years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Carl Dean Williams. Following high school graduation, she married and was a stay at home mom, raising her five daughters. She worked for several years in sales for Sears, Roebuck and Company. Then Mrs. Williams worked in the payroll department for many years at Prudential Insurance Company until her retirement. Ella received much joy from reading, cooking for family and friends and working crossword puzzles from TV Guide. As her daughters were growing up, she did a lot of sewing, making their dresses and other clothing. She was known by family and friends as having the patience of a saint. Survivors include five daughters, Cynthia A. Canfield and her husband, Robert, of Myrtle Beach, Deborah J. Border and husband, Glen of Fostoria, OH, Valerie L. Brassell and husband, Francis, of Fort Mill, SC, Cheryl D. Williams of Doylestown, PA, and Laureen B. Williams-Waid of Playa del Carmen, Mexico; and a sister, Margherita Candeloro of Swarthmore, PA. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Gordon Weir, and wife, Sarah, Robert Canfield, Jr. and wife Elisa, Sarah Horowitz and husband Andrew, Ricardo and Tiffany Flores-Williams, and 2 great-grandchildren, Levi and Stella Weir. In addition to her parents and her husband, Carl, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugo, Domenic, and Rudolph Candeloro. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Ella Williams will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Father Aubrey McNeil officiating. Interment will follow at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The family suggests that contributions in memory of Mrs. Williams be made to the charity of one's choice.
