Elsie McGaha Fields, age 85, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her home. Born in Honea Path, SC on February 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Ben Ferrell McGaha and Anna Smith McGaha. She was a graduate of Girl's High and worked as a seamstress in the textile industry for many years. Elsie was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her two sons, Ben Fields and wife Nancy and Wayne Fields and wife Mary, both of Anderson, SC; one sister: Doris Green and husband Billy of Belton, SC; two granddaughters: Beth Lackey and husband John and Jennifer Fields both of Belton, SC; and four great grandchildren: Abby, Alex, Avah, and Anna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Furman R. "Shorty" Fields; and a brother, James McGaha. The Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 4th, 2016 at 2:00pm in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jeremy Collins officiating. The Fields family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm on Sunday evening, January, 3rd, 2016 at The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson.
