Elvyn Lane Bryant, age 72, of 304 Colony Court, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House with his beloved family by his side. Born in Anderson on July 29, 1944, he was the son of the late Troy E. Bryant and the late Delia Stone Bryant. For fifty-two years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Carolyn Gambrell Bryant of the residence. Mr. Bryant was a graduate of Anderson Boys' High School in the Class of 1962. He retired after many years of employment at Metco of Anderson. Elvyn was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers and he loved woodworking and yard work. In his spare time, he enjoyed family trips to the beach and to the mountains. He was a faithful member of River Street Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and as a Trustee. In addition to his wife, Carolyn, Mr. Bryant is survived by a son, Stacy Lane Bryant and his wife Kayla of Anderson; a daughter, April Bryant Wentzky and her husband Nathan of Anderson; two sisters, Dottie Lee and husband Randy of Iva, and Lula Broome and husband Bill also of Iva; six grandchildren, Alexis Bryant, Taylor Bryant, Laneleigh Wentzky, Luke Wentzky, Logan Wentzky and Carter Bryant; a great-granddaughter , Draya Taylor; also surviving are many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Stanley and Lynda Riendeau. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Bryant will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 2 p.m. at River Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Burriss and Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
