Emma Irene LaPree Nethken, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at her home. Born in Akron, OH, she was the daughter of the late James H. LaPree and Ivy Blanche Bartlett Wade. She was a member of Trinity Bible Church in Iva, SC. Emma enjoyed many things, including knitting, renovating, and art. She loved her church, the friends she made along the way, her animals, and especially her family. She is survived by her daughter, Alida L. Casto and her husband Randy; sons, Thomas A. Nethken, and Ralph O. Nethken, Jr.; two grandchildren, Missy Adams and her husband Gregory, and Billy Nethken and his wife Cheryl; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Harold Rushing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Joe" Oliver Nethken; her daughter, Clarette M. Rushing; a granddaughter, Alicia Kelly; a grandson, Richard Dennis; and 13 siblings. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Bible Church, Iva with Pastor Michael Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery.
