SMITH January 6, 1920- September 14, 2006ANDERSON, SCMrs. Emmaline 'Nennie' Grimes Smith, age 86, of 2415 Pope Drive, wife of the late Calvin D. Smith, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Asheville, NC on January 6, 1920, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Charles L. Grimes and Anna Mary Cosby Grimes. She was a graduate of Anderson College and a homemaker. Before she was married, she was employed by the War Bonds Division and the British Admiralty and she had previously been a Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher and Sun Beams Leader. She had a life long love for culture and passed that along to her children for which they are eternally grateful. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson and the Blanche Holcombe Sunday School class. Survivors include daughters, Anna L. Smith of the home and Greta L. Smith and her husband, Horace P. Smith of Mount Pleasant, SC; a sister, Gwendolyn G. Blackwell of Marietta, GA and sister-in-law, Beatrice Grimes of Robbins, NC.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles L. Grimes and a sister, Geraldine Randall. A Private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Dr. Maurice L.
