Obituary

Emory Claude Manning, 93, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Linley Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was a son of the late Leftridge Clinkscale Manning and Selma Virginia Burton Manning. After high school graduation, he joined the US Army. Claude was a POW of WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. After serving his country, he returned to Iva and began a long career of farming. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Iva American Legion Post 44, and for sixty years, a member of Iva Masonic Lodge #238. Claude is survived by his brothers, Cleland Manning, Haskell Manning and Hugh Manning; and a sister, Virginia Manning. The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 1:30 pm Monday, February 11, 2019 at Union Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend Mike McMillion officiating. Burial will be at the Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and request memorials to Iva Masonic Lodge #238, 1004 E. Front Street, Iva, SC 29655.
