Fischer of 203 Timberlake Road, Anderson, SC, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in West New York, NJ on July 15, 1924, Mr. Fischer was a son of the late H. Ernst Fischer and Paula Duesselmann Fischer. He was a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Roanoke College and Duke Hospital Administration Program. He was a United States Navy World War II veteran having served in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean and also served in the Korean Conflict. He was the Vice President of Anderson Memorial Hospital for 12 years and served as the Hospital Administrator in Gaffney, SC and Rockingham, NC. Mr. Fischer was a longtime member of the Anderson Rotary Club where he was a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Fischer was a member of the Navy League of the Upstate, SC; the Anderson American Legion and the V.F.W. Post #5996. He was a faithful and longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Anderson.Survivors include his wife, Eloise B. Fischer of the home; daughter, Debra Fischer of Greenville, SC; son, Randal Fischer and his wife Nancy of Anderson, SC and their children, Joanna and Matthew Fischer; brother, Ernest Fischer and his wife, Sue of Anderson, SC; sister, Charlotte Dietrich of Casa Grande, AZ.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothea Fischer and a brother, Walter Fischer.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Dr. Paul R. Cooper and Reverend Robert Wilde officiating.
