October 24, 1926 - August 30, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Ernest Joseph Sears, Sr., age 79, husband of Frances Dockins Sears of 1202 Bolt Drive, Anderson, SC, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Pendleton, SC on October 24, 1926, Mr. Sears was a son of the late James G. Sears and Rosa Swaney Sears. He served in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve, retiring as 1st Class Petty Officer. Mr. Sears was employed with Parts and Supply Company for twenty-five years and retired from Anderson School District Five. He was a charter member of Forest Hill Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, Sunday School teacher and member of the building and grounds committee.Survivors include his wife, Frances Dockins Sears of the home; son, Ernest J.'Joey' Sears, Jr., and his wife, Tracy and their daughter, Josey, all of Honea Path, SC.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Omer, Clint and Milledge Sears and sisters, Velma S. Wilson, Lois S. Odom, Jenny S. Webber and Nanie Lou Robinson. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Paul Langston and Tim Crawford.
