Main Street Anderson, SC 29621 864-224-4343OBITIARY Ersilia Solidea DeFina FantSeptember 14, 1928 - January 29, 2011 ANDERSON, SC-Ersilia 'Lea' Solidea Fant, age 82, joined her beloved husband, Horatio 'Hank', of 301 Stagecoach Drive on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the RaineyHospice House. --Lea was born in Pittston Pennsylvania on September 14, 1928 to the late Giovanni and Luigia Gasperin DeFina. She was raised in Col di Cugnan, Belluno Italy, and trained as a midwife in Milan. She continued her career as a nurse for 15 years at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, Connecticut. She was of the Catholic faith, and had a very gentle, caring heart and always brought warmth, peace, patience, and love with her gracious presence. She loved to cook, knit, had a great love and kindness for animals, and was always willing to help and console people in need. She loved her family very, very much and we were extremely blessed to have her in our lives.--Survivors include her two sons, Robert Fant of New Hampshire and Daniel Fant and his wife, Ellen of Anderson; her daughter, Lorraine Fant-Buerhaus of Nashville, Tennessee; and two sisters; Maria Ines DeBattista (DeFina) of Belluno Italy, and Armida Rubin (DeFina) of Wantage, New Jersey. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Eligio DeFina, of Belluno, and her beloved husband, Horatio. She had six grandchildren.--A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at 2:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church conducted by Father Aubrey McNeil, OFM. Innichement will follow in the M. J. 'Dolly' Cooper Veterans Cemetery.--Donations may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson, the Anderson Humane Society or Animal Shelter, or the charity of your choice.
