OBITUARY WITH PHOTOMRS. ETHIEL LOCKERMAN MCGEEAugust 8, 1914 - December 23, 2006STARR, SCMrs. Ethiel Lockerman McGee, age 92, wife of the late T. Elias McGee of Starr, SC, died at the Willow Creek Living Center in Iva, SC.Born in Salemburg, NC on August 8, 1914, Mrs. McGee was a daughter of the late Preston Brooks and Rossie Royal Lockerman. She graduated from Salemburg High School in 1932 and later graduated from Berry College, Rome, Georgia in 1940. She taught school at Crescent High School, Iva High School and in Warrenton Georgia. She was a member of Starr Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. McGee was a resident of Starr, SC for over 60 years and she was a strong leader in her church and community. She will be remembered for her gracious hospitality, her delicious home cooked meals, and the beautiful flowers that she grew and shared with family and friends.Survivors include her children, Thomas Preston McGee of Starr, SC and LaDelle McGee Dowdy of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Elias Brooks McGee.The Memorial Service will be held at the Starr Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 11:00 am officiated by the Reverend Tony Howell.
