ETTA L. COX June 17, 1918 - September 24, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Etta Lawson Cox, age 94, of 518 Drayton Circle, passed away at the Rainey Hospice House on September 24, 2012. Born in Rome, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lawson and the late Sarah Fambrough Lawson. She worked in textiles for many years and was also a homemaker. She was a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Archie Cox; two daughters, Donna McMichael and her husband Terry of Madison, GA and Joyce Lowe and her husband Larry of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, Lisa Richter of Franklin, TN and Trey McMichael of Madison, GA; and five great-grandchildren, Ben and Ryan McMichael and Madison Hardy, Kathryn and Allison Richter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Lawson; a sister, Edna Butler; and a granddaughter, Renee Hardy. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Don Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
