Eugene Harmon Stitzel, 95, of Anderson, SC passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Prizma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born August 18, 1924 in Springfield, OH, Eugene was the son of the late Alden Harmon Stitzel and Margaret Gregor Stitzel. He proudly served his country in the United States Army serving in World War II and also in the Korean Conflict earning rank as Sargent. He then worked as a manager in Industrial construction managing projects for nuclear reactors and also for Aerospace with NASA before retiring. Eugene is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Eugenia Stitzel Peay of Westminster, SC; and one grandson, Andrew Peay of Sandy Point, Idaho. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Louise Martin Stitzel who passed away in April of 2009. There are no services planned at this time.
