ANDERSON, SC'Mrs. Eugenia Elizabeth Chamblee McGill, age 88, widow of James Norman McGill, died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at National HealthCare Center in Anderson, SC after an extended illness.Born in Anderson, SC on November 30, 1917, Mrs. McGill a daughter of the late David Furman Chamblee and the late Mattie Lucretia Little Chamblee. After retiring from the ASCS Office, she became very active as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. For many years she was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and Training Union teacher. In later years, she was a founding member of Providence Baptist Church and was a very faithful member as long as her health permitted.Mrs. McGill is survived by a son, James N. McGill, Jr. of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Patricia McGill Jordan and her husband, Dr. Henry Jordan of Anderson, SC; a sister, Helen Lee of Clemson, SC; four grandchildren: James Norman McGill, III and his wife, Aimee; Kelly Smith and her husband, Russell; Laura Grice and her husband, Blake, all of Anderson; and Holly Jordan of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by five great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McGill was preceded in death by three brothers, Furman Divver 'Abe' Chamblee, John Chesley 'Pitt' Chamblee, Lawrence Clifton 'L.C.' Chamblee; and five sisters, Ruby Vermelle Collins, Miriam Louise Chamblee, Ruth Ann Wesley, Eunice Ella Chamblee, and Frances Rodgers.
