Eula Lee Mauldin Sands, 99, formerly of 317 Charping Road, Iva, SC died on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. She was the daughter of the late Pickett C. and Amanda Eula Brown Mauldin born on December 17th, 1916 in Anderson, SC. Mrs. Sands was a textiles weaver and worked for Jackson Mills in Iva for over 30 years. She was a Charter member of Grace Baptist Church in Starr, SC for over 50 years. Mrs. Sands is survived by her children: Amanda Sands Burdette of Starr, SC, Ramona Sands Gentry of Iva, SC, and Wanda Sands Davis of Anderson, SC; one sister: Ella Ree Wiles of Iva, SC; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Sands was preceded in death by her husband: W.H. "Billy" Sands; three brothers: John Henry, T.B., and Tyre Mauldin; one sister: Leasie Mauldin; and one grandson: Darryl Gentry. A funeral service will be held at 3:30pm on Monday, February, 1st, 2016 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bill and Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Anderson, SC. The Sands family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00pm on Monday, February 1st, 2016 prior to the service at the funeral home.
