Martha Evelyn Burton, age 70, of Iva, SC, loving wife to Wade "Shorty" Burton, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born March 31, 1951, in Lowndesville, SC, she is the daughter of Jessie Lee Ridgeway Boles and the late Earl Boles. Evelyn was a devoted Christian and a faithful servant to The Lord her whole life. She was a member of the Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years and during her time at this church she taught Sunday school and impacted the lives of the youth in the Iva community. She currently was a member of the Iva First Baptist. Evelyn was a well-known, skilled, and passionate hair stylist in Iva for many years and formed lifelong friendships with each client. After her retirement from Kravet Fabrics, she loved tending to her flower beds, going on many beach trips and spending time with her family. Her family meant everything to her. In addition to her mother, Jessie, and dedicated husband, Shorty, she is survived by her children, Casey Kelley (Dwayne), Alison Gurley (Ron), Sommer Smith (Tommy), and Jamie Miller (Rhett); sister, Gail Brown; seven grandchildren, Josh Gurley (Valerie), Paige Powell (Jacob), Jolie Kelley, Jake Kelley, Kade Smith, Paislee Smith, and Evieann Miller; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Emmi, and Ellie; and loved by all her nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Earl, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Doug Green; and brother, Joe "Bubba" Boles. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Iva. The funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Lowndesville, SC. The family will be at the residence.
