Evelyn C. Gaines Anderson, SC Evelyn Cleveland Hanna Gaines, affectionately known as "Shortie" age 95, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at NHC Healthcare of Anderson. Born in Hart County, GA, on December 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Henry Cleveland and the late Emma Jones Cleveland. She retired after 31 years of service from Gallant Belk in the alterations department. Evelyn was a member of North Anderson Baptist Church and a former member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She is survived by her grandchildren, Melanie Lewis, Tracy Terry and Scott Hanna, all of Gainesville, FL; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Carl Hanna and Clarence Gaines; two sons, Jimmy Ray Hanna and an infant, Carl Anthony Hanna; five brothers and three sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The Graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Reverend Bill Rigsby officiating.
