Evelyn Hefner, age 78 of Anderson, SC passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Linley Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born November 8, 1938 in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter to the late Samuel James Fennell and the late Gertrude Kelly Fennell. She was a graduate of the 1957 Girls High school and from Tri County Tech at the age of 47 and was on the National Deans List. Evelyn retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass with 28 years of service as the first woman electrician with the company. She was a devoted and Godly charter member of Belmont Church of God of Prophecy where she also served as the treasurer. She was devoted to her family, a loving mother and also adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed life, the outdoors and working in her yard. She is survived by her twin daughters, Shina Thomas (Timothy) of Piedmont, SC and Gina Pindroh (Kurt) of Anderson, SC; twin sister, Merilyn Fennell of Anderson; brother, Allen Fennell of Anderson; grandchildren, Ryan Pindroh, Garrett Thomas, Kristin Thomas and Evan Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lymon Hefner; sister, Gerline Fennell and brother, Samuel Knox Fennell. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, July 7, 2017 at Belmont Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Alan Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at The McDougald Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted.
