Evelyn Pinson Hicks, age 85, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on June 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Guy Martin Pinson and Eugenia Clinkscales Pinson. Evelyn was a graduate of Anderson College and was the co-owner of Hicks Gas Mart Trucking Inc. She was very crafty and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She was an avid NASCAR fan and was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia "Patsy" Pierce and her husband Bo, Lynn Wright and her husband Ronnie, and Cynthia "Cindy" Jackson, all of Anderson, SC; her sister, Linda Pinson Broome and her husband Paul, of Starr, SC; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and her daughter-in-law, Janice Porter Hicks. She is also survived by her furry companion, Gracie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eris Wilson Hicks "Jr"; a daughter, Barbara Harris; a son, Billy Hicks; and an infant sister. The Graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Evelyn P. Hicks will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, May 12, 2016, prior to the service, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
