Evie Jane Richey Bowen, age 95, of Anderson, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. She was the widow of the late Melvin J. Bowen who passed away in 2016 after 61 years of marriage.

Born in Pendleton, SC, February 8, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Donnie and Edna Hall Richey. She was a graduate of Anderson Girls High School and retired from Ryobi Manufacturing Company. In 1954, Mrs. Bowen became a member of Boulevard Baptist Church and retained her membership for seventy years.

Mrs. Bowen is survived by a daughter, Dr. Melvya Tollison (Lemar) of Anderson; son, Stephen Bowen, of Anderson; grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor, Seth Tollison, Hunter Garrison, Kaelyn Saxon, Connor Tollison, Michelle Bowen and Kaleigh Tollison; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, David Richey (Shelby) of Walhalla; sisters, Gloria Prater of Westminster, and Glenda Hicks of Westminster.

In addition to her parents, and husband, sisters, Joy Hancock and Dale O'Kelley, and brother, Edsel Richey preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at

The McDougald Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Robin Harrison and Dr. Melvya Tollison officiating.
