In addition, Marshall is survived by Rebecca McWatty of Greenville, SC. He and Rebecca shared 18 wonderful years together and she was truly the love of his life. Marshall fought a devastating lung disease for most of those years, and Rebecca was always there to fight right beside him. Her unconditional love and support, and the wonderful memories created during those years made the battle much more bearable.
Marshall was a true pillar of the community who was deeply involved in Sertoma, Service to Mankind, for over twenty eight years. He was a member of the Anderson Sertoma Club and former member of the Miracle Mile Club. He was past SC State Director of Sertoma 1988-1999, Carolina West Region International Director 1991-1993, and served three terms as District Governor. In 2008 he was named Regional Sertoman of the Year, and was the recipient of the President's Lifetime Service Award in 2009. He received great joy in helping to provide countless under-privileged and speech and hearing impaired children the opportunity to experience a positive and life changing week of camp.
His family and countless friends will always remember him as a positive, hardworking man who loved life and those around him and was always there with a heart of gold and a willing hand to help his fellow man and those less fortunate.
