Born in Hart County, GA on January 12, 1908, Mrs. Vickery was a daughter of the late Austin Thrasher and Katie Thrasher. She was a resident of Exalted Health and Rehab of Iva (formerly Willow Creek Living Center) in Iva. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and was a homemaker.She is survived by four grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special friend and roommate, Mrs. Mary Harrington. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her children: James Vickery, Jr.; Early Vickery; Dolly Mae Richardson and Pauline Walters; eleven brothers and sisters and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with the Funeral Service following in the Chapel at 2:30 pm officiated by Dr. Glenn Taylor. Interment will follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Fair Play, SC. Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2511 Dobbins Bridge Road, Anderson, SC 29626.
