Obituary

Faye Escoe King, age 86, of Belton, SC, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born January 1, 1940, in Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Owen Escoe and Myrtie Wynn Thaxton Escoe. She was married to Zane Shockley King until his death in 2025. She was also preceded in death by her son, Greg King; brothers, Jay Escoe, Ralph Escoe, Jr., and Ray Escoe; and sisters, Ruth Madden, Louell Knight, Allie Sue Sellers, and Rachel Ashley.

If there was one thing that defined her life, it was her heart for serving others. She spent her life taking care of people, often putting the needs of others before her own. Her faith was an important part of who she was. She dearly loved her church family at Second Baptist Church of Belton and faithfully served in the Good News Club at Belton Elementary School for more than 20 years, sharing her love and faith with generations of children. And, of course, she was a true Southern lady who believed a little lipstick could make any day better! In her honor, ladies are invited to wear their favorite shade of lipstick to her service.

She is survived by her daughters, Jan King Bratcher (Mike) of Anderson, SC, and Julie King Ridgeway (Martin) of Greenwood, SC, and; grandchildren, Brett Bratcher of Raleigh, NC, Blair Vestrand (Neil) of Orlando, FL, Addison Ridgeway (Becca) of Anderson, SC, and Ben Ridgeway (Margaret) of Greenwood, SC; and 6 great grandchildren.

The service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Overstreet and Rev. Chad Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30-1:45 pm. A private family committal will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 5901 Belton Hwy., Belton, SC 29627, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
