FLORA M. HENRY Flora Mae Woods Henry, age 85, of 103 Donhill Road, formerly of Whitesburg, GA, passed away peacefully at NHC of Anderson on Saturday, January 10, 2015. Born on September 21, 1929 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late James "Jim" Lee Woods and the late Lona Fuller Woods. For many years she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Paul W. Henry. Mrs. Henry was a seamstress in the textile industry, and later was a caregiver for the elderly and homebound. She was a member of the Rotherwood First Congregational Methodist Church in Whitesburg, GA. Survivors include 2 daughters, Alice Chambers Mabrey of the home, and Peggy Isbell and her husband, Hugh, of Anderson; a sister, Brenda Taylor and her husband, Edward, of Laurens; 3 grandchildren, Lynne Burdette and husband, Jerald of Iva, Kris Isbell of Anderson, and Sarah Campbell and husband, Christopher, of Williamston; also surviving are 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by a brother Walter Woods. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Flora Henry will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Donald and David Black officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Peggy and Hugh Isbell, 3403 Dixon Road, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015. Flowers are accepted but the family suggests a contribution in memory of Mrs. Henry to the charity of one's choice.
