FLORIDE E. CARTER April 2, 1921 - May 21, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Floride Erwin Carter "Mawee", age 91, of 200 Wellington Court, passed away on May 21, 2012 at her residence. Born in Iva, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. Erwin and the late Clelar Hayes Erwin. She retired from Scotts Sewing Company after 25 years of service. Floride was a member of Homeland Park Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and was active in WMU. Survivors include her children, Ellen C. Black and her husband Larry of Anderson, and Leonard Carter and his wife Becky of Piedmont; daughter-in-law, Mary R. Carter of Anderson; sister-in- law, Stella Williams of Starr; brother-in-law, George W. Carter of Anderson; grandchildren, Janet C. Farmer of Anderson, Ryan Carter of Anderson, Wendy B. Laird of Summerville, Terry Osborne of Iva, Leonard Craig Carter of Florence and Blake Carter of Greer; ten great-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and four step-great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Stenson Carter; son, Felton Carter; daughter, Irene C. Osborne; son-in-law, Clayborne Osborne; sister, Duwrine E. Massey; and a brother, Charles M. Erwin. The Funeral Service to honor the life of Floride Carter will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00am at Homeland Park Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Dickard, Reverend U.C. Neill and Reverend Leonard Craig Carter officiating. Mrs. Carter will be placed in the church at 10:00 am on Saturday. Interment will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.
