Florine Stratton Ozmint May 1, 1925- June 18, 2012 IVA, SC Florine Stratton Ozmint, age 87, of Iva, SC, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012. Born in Elbert County, GA, Florine was a daughter of the late Ira Wall Stratton and the late Madge Conwell Stratton. She was a graduate of Iva High School class of 1942. She was an active member of Union Baptist Church attending the Gleaners Sunday school class. She was the first librarian of the Iva Branch Library, working there for over 20 years and was an Avon Representative for over 55 years. Florine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, serving her family, church and community well. She is survived by a son, Milton Ira Ozmint and his wife, Paula of Simpsonville, SC; daughters, Dianne Burdette and her husband, Michael of Abbeville, SC, Mary Beth Bruce and her husband, James of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas Ozmint, Maggie Ozmint, Megan Burdette, Kylie Burdette, Russell Bruce, Scott Bruce and his wife Mary. Also surviving is her twin sister, Lorene McAlister of Honea Path, SC and her wonderful caregiver, Tama Riggins. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Milton Ozmint; a brother, Ronnie Stratton; and a sister, Leonora Stratton Thomas. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Union Baptist Church, Iva, SC with Reverend Mike McMillion officiating. Mrs. Ozmint will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery. The family is at the home of her daughter, Beth Bruce, 129 Forest Cove Road, Anderson and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Union Baptist Church Building Fund, 703 Barnes Station Road, Iva, SC 29655.
