Floyd Thomas "Tom" Boatman February 15, 1939 - July 15, 2012 Floyd Thomas" Tom" Boatman, age 73, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his residence in Anderson. Born February 15, 1939 in Englewood, TN, he was the son of the late Floyd Alexander and Minda Vaughn Boatman. Tom retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation in 1988 as a quality control engineer in Marietta, GA. He dearly loved his family, friends, fishing, gardening, CB Radios and computers. He was a member of Nelms Masonic Lodge #323 F&AM in Smyrna, GA. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Millie Jones Boatman and their daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Larson and her husband Doug of Anderson, Melody Boatman of Kennesaw, and Teresa Applewhite and her husband Michael of Anderson; their five grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Larson, Nicholas Larson, Kelsey Applewhite, Dillon Applewhite, and Connor Applewhite; and his brother, Charles W. Boatman. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Thelbert D. Boatman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 2:00 pm until 3:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The Funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 4:00 pm. Reverend Kenneth Bailey will officiate.
