JONES February 19, 1927 - July 6, 2006 STARR, SCMr. Floyd William Jones, age 79, of 127 Knowlandale Drive, husband of the late Betty Jean Allen Jones, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Anderson County, SC on February 19, 1927, Mr. Jones was a son of the late Samuel L. Jones and Sally Patterson Jones. He was a graduate of Anderson College and Erskine College. He retired from the Department of Defense and was a member of the American Legion and Republican National Committee. He was a United States Navy and Army World War II veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Mr. Jones was a member of Orrville United Methodist Church and attended North Anderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was also a Lay Speaker in the Methodist Church.Surviving are his sons, Michael Steven Jones and his wife, Laura of Selma, NC and Kevin Allen Jones of Greenville, SC; daughters, Tina Suzette Jones Lucas and her husband, Tommy of Columbia, SC and Sheryl Jean Jones Crawford of Starr, SC; sisters, Martha Lawton of Iva, SC and Eleanor Allen of Anderson, SC. Five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel L. Jones Jr., and a sister, Mary Shaw. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend J. Floyd Stansell, Jr. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 8, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
