Frances "Fran" Weaver Smith, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at her home. Born in Green Springs VA, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Gwyn Weaver and the late Laura Poston Barr. Frances retired from Westinghouse/ Isola. She cherished her family and friends, loved the Georgia Bulldogs, flowers, and she adored her dog, Mikey. She is survived by her children, Gary Allen, and Debbie Whitfield; her step-children, Michelle Lockhart and Tammy Scarborough (Huitt); a brother, Zan Kirby (Carol); two sisters, Pat Hagy (Don), and Mary Jenkins; grandchildren, Shane McConnell (Amy), Eric Whitfield (Erica Hix), Maggie and Will Lockhart, Blakely and Knox Scarborough, Ronnie Whitfield, and Saul Vasquez; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Madison McConnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Larry Olin Smith; and two sisters, Dot Foreman and June Sproles. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at The McDougald Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Bob Marcaurelle and Reverend Chris Gray officiating. Interment will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery.
