FRAN WALSH Louisville, KY - Fran Walsh, 87, widow of Robert Walsh, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 in Louisville, KY. A daughter of the late Beeler and Virginia Whitlock, Fran grew up in Gravel Switch, KY. She joined the Women's Army Corp (WACS) during the Korean War and competed on the Army softball, basketball and bowling teams. She earned a degree in Accounting from Philips Business College and retired from civil service and as a government contractor for Pan-Am. She was a long-time Nazarene, most recently attending Grace Community Church of the Nazarene in Louisville, KY. Fran loved her family, her church, sports and traveling. Survivors include her son, Rick Holcomb (Lynne) of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Treva Tiberghien (Lafayette) of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren, Micaela Hayes (Brian) of Gastonia, NC and Andy Holcomb and Katie Holcomb, both of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Louise Hunt and a special niece, Kim Dolan, both of Louisville, KY; and special friends, Mike and Bonnie Baugher. In addition to her husband and parents, Fran was predeceased by her brother, Foster Whitlock. A graveside gathering with military honors will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Anderson, SC on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends following the service at Tucker's Restaurant in Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bridge Church of the Nazarene, 133 W.
