FRANCES CRUTCHER FOSTER
November 3, 1931 - December 23, 2012
Frances Crutcher Foster (Dinky to her friends) passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 23, 2012.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Granbery Foster, Jr.; her daughter Eleanor Dinkins Foster of Savannah, GA; her son, James Granbery Foster, III and his wife Cathleen Reas Foster; her three granddaughters, Corinne, Courtney and Cara; her sister, Katherine Chisholm; niece, Dolly Chisholm Sadler (Graham); a nephew, Frank Anderson Chisholm, Jr. (Alice); niece, Jane Foster Miles (Robert) and several great nieces and great nephews.
Dinky was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend. She adored and loved her husband, children, grandchildren and family. She grew up in Savannah, GA and graduated The Pape School. She also graduated from Duke University where she was President of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
She married James Granbery Foster, Jr. in 1957 and lived in Columbus, GA and Norfolk, VA before moving to Orlando, FL. In Orlando she was very active in the First United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School, serving on the Staff Parish Committee and Flower Committee. When her children were growing up she was very active in the PTA. She was a member of the Junior League of Savannah and Orlando, The Rosalind Club of Orlando and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the state of Florida.In 2006, she and her husband moved to Anderson, SC to be closer to her son and his family. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.
Dinky will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, which were many, even at the end of her earthly life.
The Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA with Father Richard Nelson and Deacon Geri Nelson officiating.
