FRANCES PHILLIPS FREEMAN September 9, 1927 - July 2, 2012 Mrs. Frances Phillips Freeman, age 84, of Anderson, went to be with her Savior on Monday, July 02, 2012, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late J.B. Phillips and the late Hattie Mae Parker Phillips. She was the wife of the late Joe Shirley Freeman who she loved, and who passed away in 1994. Mrs. Freeman was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing and especially cooking for her family who she loved dearly. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Anderson Westside Church of God of Prophecy. Those surviving include 2 daughters, Mildred Irene Freeman and Bobbie Jean Bowen and her husband, Berry, both of Anderson; 2 brothers, Ray Phillips of Muncie, IN, and Melvin Phillips and his wife, Carol, of Augusta, GA; a sister Margaret E. Hanks of Anderson; and 2 grandchildren, Tammie Bowen Drake and Kimberly Work and her husband, Mark, both of Anderson. In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Phillips. A graveside service celebrating the life of Mrs. Frances Freeman will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 10 AM at the New Silver Brook Cemetery with Rev. William L. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
