Frances Nell Driggers Goodwin, age 84, of Pendleton, SC, loving wife to the late James A. Goodwin, Sr., passed away Friday, April 23, 2021, at her residence. Born March 9, 1937, in Bennettsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late John H. Driggers and Nell Bailey Driggers. Frances worked at West Point Stevens for many years. She was a woman of faith, known for her great sense of humor, style, laughter, and loved having a good time. She enjoyed flower gardening, tending to her beautiful azaleas, traveling to the mountains, and eating out and socializing with her many friends. She was a dedicated member of Pope Drive Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, James A. Goodwin, Jr., (Brenda) of Anderson, SC, David B. Goodwin (Rebecca) of Latta, SC, and Richard D. Goodwin (Sheila) of Laurens, SC; daughters, Mary Beth Chavis (Bruce) of Bennettsville, SC, and Amy R. Poole (Barry) of Cheraw, SC; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jay Driggers; and sisters, Mary Smith, and Ruth Thomas. The family will receive friends Monday, April 26, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Matthew Danuser officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pope Drive Baptist Church, 2510 Pope Dr., Anderson, SC 29625, and Interim Hospice, 16 Hyland Rd., Greenville, SC 29615.
