Frances Babb Holliday, age 84, of 701 Simpson Road, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2018, upon her death at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Belton on April 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Elbert E. Babb and the late Sybil Pressley Babb. For over sixty-eight years, she was the loving and devoted wife of Edward Holliday of Anderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Myrtie Kay Babb; sisters, Juanita Babb Campbell and Brenda Kay Babb and grandson, Blake Holliday.
Frances attended the public schools of Belton, graduating from Ellen Woodside High School. She was employed for many years in retail sales, having worked as a store manager at Wright's Quality Shop. She also worked at Hamrick's Clothing. Mrs. Holliday was a member of First Baptist Church of Belton.
In addition to her beloved husband, Edward, Mrs. Holliday leaves behind three sons, Terry Holliday (Denise) of Fairview, NC, Tim Holliday (Connie) of Asheville, NC, and Richard Holliday (Libby) of Belton; a daughter, Glenda Holliday of Summerville, SC; two brothers, Edgar Babb (Marsha) of Shelby, NC, and Gary Babb (Diane) of Canton, GA; two sisters, Martha Babb Moody of Greenville, SC and Sybil Babb Smith of Hickory Tavern, SC; nine grandchildren, Christy Greer (Alex) of Easley, SC, Jamie Cooley (Jennifer) of Anderson, Melissa Negreiros (Marcos) of Summerville, SC, Brianne Clark (Barry) of North Augusta, SC, Adam Holliday (Megan) of Columbus, OH, Jill Deaton (Austin) of Anderson, Ellie Haydon (Bryan) of Lexington, KY, Cole Holliday of Mauldin, SC, and Luke Holliday also of Mauldin. Also surviving are twelve beautiful great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Frances will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Frances B. Holliday will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018, at the Committal Shelter at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery, with Pastor Reverend T. Dale Lynch officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will visit with family and friends at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper following the service.
