Frances Louise Ashley Lyon passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. Previously she had resided at 110 Rube Ashley Road in Belton and had been a resident of The Maples in Honea Path. Mrs. Lyon was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church for over 68 years. She attended the Homemaker's Sunday School class and was a choir member in her earlier years. Mrs. Lyon was born March 15, 1928, in Anderson, to the late Geneva Elizabeth Bowen and Lawrence Alborn Ashley. She was the devoted wife of the late Marshall Waymon Lyon. She is survived by a daughter, Leretta Lyon Heller and her husband Dr. Kenneth Bryan Heller of Belton; granddaughters, Elizabeth Heller Stone and her husband, Jeremy Edgar Stone of Belton, SC, and Katherine Heller Cox and her husband, Shaun William Cox of Naperville, IL; also survived by great-grandchildren, Patrick Marshall, Edie Katherine, and Cason Lynn Stone of Belton and Anna Louise and James Thomas Cox of Naperville IL. Mrs. Lyon has one living brother, Johnny Robert Ashley (Adgertean) and was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Olivia Jones and brothers, James Willis Ashley, John William Ashley, and Lawrence Henry Ashley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. T. Dale Lynch and Rev. Mark Krieger officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
