She was 87. A native of Anderson County, Mrs. Sayre was a resident of Longview, Texas, for 30 years before moving to Anderson in 1982. She is survived by her son, Alan Sayre, of New Orleans, a granddaugher, Katherine Sayre, of New Orleans, a daugher in law, Terri Lewis Sayre, and best friend Louise Erskine of Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ellison Ragsdale and Mae Tollison Ragsdale, her husband, S.W. Sayre, and three brothers, Richard Ragsdale, Butler Ragsdale and James Ragsdale. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Anderson. A graveside service was held Saturday. Donations in her memory may be made to Thornwell Home for Children, 302 S.
