Self, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Heritage Health Care of Pickens. Born in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Whitaker and the late Gertrude Taylor Whitaker. Mrs. Self had retired from commerce Cotton Mill in Commerce GA after 20+ years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by a daughter, Lynn W. Herold; one sister, Wilma Rhymes of Liberty, SC; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three half-sisters, Patricia Knight Morrow and her husband, Ben of Laurens, Linda Rhodes and her husband, Stanley of Liberty, SC and Brenda Hall and her husband, Gene of Laurens, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Josephine Sullivan; son, Dewey Wood; four sisters and six brothers. The Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, Liberty, SC. The family will receive friends following the service.
