FRANCES B SMALLEY July 25, 1927 - September 13, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Frances Burgess Smalley, age 85, of Anderson, passed away on September 13, 2012, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Shelby, NC, she was the daughter of the late J.R. Burgess and the late Nell Jones Burgess. She worked in textiles for many years and also managed several convenience stores. She was a former member of the VFW #5996 serving in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Chris Smalley and his wife Dawn of Anderson, Tina Dowdy of Florida, Sherri Roe of Anderson and Robin Moyer of Florida; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Alfred Smalley and her second husband, Earle D. Corley; a son, David Smalley; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Smalley; and five brothers. The Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:30 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
