Frances Sosebee Swaney, age 78, of Pendleton, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Frances was born September 29, 1942 in Easley, SC to the late Jesse Sosebee and Martha Swafford Sosebee. Frances retired from Milliken in 2009 after 34 years of service in human resources. She was a member of Fants Grove Baptist Church. Frances always wanted to care for her family and others, always putting herself last. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time on the boat. She loved quilting and making quilts for those she loved. Above all, nothing brought her more joy in life than cooking a huge meal and having all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in her home all together. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debra Goss (David), Wayne Swaney, and Melanie Wilson; brother, Jerry Sosebee (Johnnie Rie); brother-in-law, Ernest Swaney (Judy); sisters-in-law, Shelby Stamey (Jim), and Loretta Hendricks (Leroy); six grandchildren, Michelle, Jody, Trevor, Chase, Gavin, and Brian; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loyal fur baby Jada. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Lewis F. Swaney, along with her parents and great-grandson, Silas Wilson. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 1:00-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev.
