CASON April 25, 1916 - August 2, 2005ANDERSON, SCMr. Frances Elbert Cason, age 89, husband of Hazel James McConnell Cason of 2014 Boulevard Heights, Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Anderson Area Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in the White Plains Community of Anderson County, SC on April 25, 1916, Mr. Cason was the son of the late Ebb Cason and Mae Dickerson Cason. He was a graduate of White Plains High School and a retired self-employed businessman. He served on the Anderson City Council for 30 years from 1968 to 1998. He was a Shriner and a member of The Order of Knights of Pythias. Mr. Cason was a United States Marine Corps World War II veteran and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson, served as a Deacon and was a former Sunday School teacher.Survivors include his wife, Hazel James McConnell Cason of the home; daughters, Sylvia Campbell and her husband, Marvin of Anderson, SC, Faye Bryant and her husband, Gary of Carthage, TN and Jerry Horton and her husband, Gene of Washington, IN; a step-daughter, Nancy McConnell Wilhelm and her husband, Budgy of Surfside Beach, SC; a step-son, George A. McConnell and his wife, Edith of Tryon, NC and their families; a sister, Doris Heller of Belton, SC; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Richardson Cason; five brothers and six sisters.Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Jerry Hayes and Bill Rigsby. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 4, 2005 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
