FRANCIS W. LACHAPELLE ANDERSON, SC Francis William Lachapelle, age 85, of Anderson, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Southbridge, MA, on December 13, 1927, he was the son of the late William Francis Lachapelle and the late Louise Lapointe Lachapelle. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force, serving in Japan during WWII. He was in the American Optical Co in Southbridge, MA for 34 years, retiring in 1994 when he moved to Anderson. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church He is survived by his sons, David R. and Gary J. Lachapelle; daughters, Donna M. Tobias, Nancy A. Fassett and Carol Gray; brothers, Donald and John Lachapelle; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Pearl Locke Lachapelle; and a sister, Janice LaCroix. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
