Frank Smith Anderson, SC Dewey Franklin Smith, age 73, passed away at Marchbanks Assisted Living on Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Born in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Dewey D. Smith and the late Nannie Mae Scott Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Frank Smith Carpentry for many years. Frank lived in Atlanta for 25 years, before returning to Anderson in 1996. He was an avid motorcycle rider and rode for many years in the Toys for Tots parade in Anderson. He is survived by his life companion, Carol Kenerleber, of the home; a son, Greg Smith Turner, of Spartanburg, SC; a sister-in-law, Sharon M Smith, of Hartwell, GA; cousins, Hugh Dorsey Moss, of Anderson, SC and Therman Alewine, of Athens, GA as well as many other cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Smith; a sister, Shirley M. Pulliam; and grandparents, Penic Scott and Ada Fowler Scott. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, prior to the service on Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anderson Humane Society, 235 Camson Road, Anderson, SC 29625.
