Obituary

Frankie Dickerson Iva, SC Frankie Burdette Dickerson, of 615 Johnny Long Road, Iva, SC, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Charles William Dickerson for 55 years and was the daughter of the late David L. Burdette and Frances Lawton Burdette. She graduated from George Mason University with a BA degree in Early Childhood Education, and earned a Master's degree in Reading from Clemson University. She was an educator for more than 28 years retiring from Iva Elementary School. Frankie was a member of First Baptist Church of Iva, the WMU, and was a board member of The Anderson County Museum. Including her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles Benjamin "Benjy" Dickerson and his wife Gale, and Shawn Dickerson and his wife Nancy; and a brother, Danny Burdette and his wife Candace. She was preceded in death by an infant son, William Joseph Dickerson. The family will receive friends at The First Baptist Church of Iva, on Thursday, March 19, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Reverends Jerry Gray and Ron Hamilton will officiate. Interment will follow at Iva City Cemetery. The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Building Fund, PO Box 475, Iva, SC 29655.
