Franklin Delane Brock, age 75, of 416 Ashley Downs, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Honea Path, SC, he was a son of the late Frank Madison Brock and the late Margie Traynham Brock. For 50 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Peggy Hammond Brock of the residence. Mr. Brock was a graduate of Honea Path High School and obtained an associate's degree from Forrest College. He proudly served his nation in the US Navy, stationed on the USS Coral Sea and the USS Randolph. Franklin was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Honea Path, where he was baptized. He was retired from Jacobs Chuck Manufacturing where he was employed as a manufacturing supervisor. Frank enjoyed looking for Indian artifacts. He loved nature, especially flowers; he was an avid antique lover, and followed sports enthusiastically. In addition to his wife, Peggy, he is survived by a son, Russell D. Brock of Anderson; a daughter Tracey Brock Ray and her husband, Richard, of Anderson; a brother, Jerry D. Brock and his wife, Lynn, of Orangeburg; a sister, Betty Jean Crate and her husband, Gordon, of Anderson; and 2 grandchildren, Christie and Alan Ray of Anderson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brock was preceded in death by a son, Richard Earle Brock. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Franklin D. Brock will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 3 PM, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
