FRANK OWEN June 14, 1930 - February 8, 2007ANDERSON, SCMr. Franklin Bigby Owen, age 76, husband of Shirley Dyar Owen of 2313 Poplar Lane, Anderson, SC, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Anderson, SC on June 14, 1930, Mr. Owen was a son of the late John Holman Owen, Sr., and Martha Louise Bigby Owen. He was a 1956 graduate of Erskine College and served in the United States Army, serving two years in Korea. He was retired from BASF after 25 years of service. He became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in 1957 where he attended the Cokesbury Sunday School class and was a former choir member.Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dyar Owen of the home; children, Marisa Owen Zanini and her husband, Sergio of Pordenone, Italy, Meredith Owen-McCombs of Anderson, SC, Christopher Franklin Owen and his wife, Cheryl Drake Owen of West Columbia, SC and Amy Owen Fisher and her husband, Jeremy, of Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, Alessandra Zanini, Emily McCombs, Olivia McCombs, Sara Beth Owen and Gavin Fisher and sister, Rachel Witt of Anderson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Holman Owen and a sister, Mary Louise Drake.A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 4:00 pm at Old Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson officiated by the Reverend Frank Lybrand.
