He served in the US Air Force and retired from Deland, Florida School Board of Education. He attended Wellington Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Gilstrap Pruitt; brother, Charles Pruitt of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Cecil Gilbert and Edith Gunter, of Anderson; brother-in-law, Pete Gilstrap and his wife, Teresa; Sean Suttles; mother-in-law, Edith Gilstrap and numerous sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by siblings, Ruth Himmelberger, Harrison and Edward Pruitt.A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 3:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 3-5pm.The family will be at their respective homes.The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
